Rebrand Visual Identity for Babylon Bank

A comprehensive visual identity was designed for Babylon Bank as part of a rebranding project aimed at modernizing the bank’s visual presence while strengthening its connection to Iraq’s rich cultural heritage. The logo draws inspiration from a collection of historical symbols associated with Babylonian and Mesopotamian civilization. At its core, the design incorporates the Lion of Babylon, one of Iraq’s most iconic historical symbols, repeated twice to represent the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, the foundations upon which Mesopotamian civilization flourished. The identity also features circular elements inspired by ancient coins used throughout Mesopotamia, symbolizing both historical economic activity and the bank’s core financial services. The letter “B”, representing the first letter of Babylon Bank, is seamlessly integrated into the logo structure, creating a contemporary and recognizable visual mark. To further emphasize themes of prosperity and growth, a wheat spike symbol is incorporated into the letterform, inspired by grain motifs historically featured on Babylonian currency. This element represents investment, development, and sustainable economic growth. Additionally, a stylized and simplified motif derived from the iconic Ishtar Gate has been repeated throughout the visual system, referencing one of Babylon’s most significant architectural landmarks and reinforcing the bank’s cultural identity. The resulting identity successfully balances historical authenticity with a modern banking vision, conveying trust, stability, and long-term growth.
